Of course different players use different tunings, but I like to use it in D. The D-tuner means that you can get to those lower notes. A lot of people who play four string basses want to be able to play lower notes than conventional four string can provide, but don’t want to use a five or six string bass. It is just fundamentally different to the neck joints of other basses. I sometimes bend it very strongly but it never breaks.
